  • 1 pound ground turkey, chicken, or beef
  • 1 tablespoon tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • black pepper
  • 1/4 cup avocado or sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup tamari or soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 large head broccoli, cut into florets (about a cup and a half of florets)
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped ginger
  • chili flakes
  • 12 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, tamari/soy sauce, grated ginger, chopped green onions, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. Roll the mixture into tablespoon-sized meatballs and coat them in cornstarch.
  3. Whisk together tamari/soy sauce, honey, and water in a jar for the sauce.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the meatballs until browned (about 8 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté broccoli florets until charred (about 5 minutes). Add garlic, ginger, and chili flakes; cook for an additional minute.
  6. Pour in the sauce and bring to a boil. Add back the meatballs and simmer until coated (3–4 minutes). Thicken with cornstarch slurry if desired.
  7. Serve over rice garnished with sesame seeds.
