Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup salted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 and 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
  • Flaky sea salt, for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined. Mix in vanilla extract and eggs until smooth.
  2. Gradually add flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until a dough forms. Stir in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  3. Scoop dough into ten balls (140g each), pressing additional chocolate chips on top if desired. Chill in the refrigerator for at least three hours or freeze for one hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line cookie sheets with parchment paper and space out cookie balls on each sheet.
  5. Bake for 12–16 minutes; cookies may appear slightly underdone but will firm up as they cool.
