  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream (more or less for consistency)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking pans by greasing them.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix well.
  3. In another bowl, sift together cake flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, and pudding mix.
  4. Gradually combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients while alternating with buttermilk until smooth.
  5. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cakes cool before applying ganache made by melting chocolate chips with water and butter; then mix in powdered sugar.
