Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup crumble cookies (chocolate sandwich cookies)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add softened butter, vanilla extract, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually stir in flour until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle (about half an inch thick). Spread melted butter over it, sprinkle with cinnamon, and scatter crushed cookies.
  6. Roll tightly from one edge into a log shape and slice into equal pieces (about an inch thick). Place in a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  8. Drizzle with cream cheese frosting before serving warm.
