  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 3 large ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extras for topping)

Instructions

  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Then whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until thick. Mix in mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla until well combined.

  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with additional chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake for about 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for ten minutes before transferring to a rack.
