  • 2 tbsp steak seasoning
  • 1 tbsp dried thyme
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ⅓ cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 lbs potatoes (optional)
  • 1 lb carrots (optional)
  • 1 yellow onion (optional)
  • 1 tbsp steak seasoning (optional)
  • 1½ tsp thyme (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the roast by coating with oil and then liberally sprinkling steak seasoning and thyme on both sides.
  2. Sear the roast in a hot skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
  3. Pour beef broth into the skillet to deglaze, scraping up any bits; pour this into the slow cooker.
  4. If using vegetables, prepare them and place them over the roast.
  5. Cook on low for about 7-8 hours or high for 3.5-4 hours until tender.
  6. Add cornstarch mixed with water to thicken gravy if desired during the last hour of cooking.
  7. Serve by slicing the roast and enjoying it with your favorite sides.
