  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted) for topping
  • ½ cup granulated sugar for topping
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray an 8½ x 4½-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few crumbs.
  6. Let cool for about 10 minutes before transferring to parchment paper.
  7. While still warm, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with the topping mixture.
