  • 1.52 pounds flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Spice mix (cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, chili powder, onion powder, pepper, cayenne pepper)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the spice mix by combining all the spice ingredients in a bag or container.
  2. In a large bag, whisk together marinade ingredients and add 3 tablespoons of spice mix. Add flank steak and marinate for 4 to 12 hours in the fridge.
  3. Mix remaining spice rub with olive oil.
  4. Before grilling, discard marinade and pat the steak dry. Rub with spice mixture and let it rest at room temperature for 30-60 minutes.
  5. Preheat grill to medium-high heat and cook steak for about 5-6 minutes on each side until desired doneness.
  6. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
